BASKETBALL ACT ANNOUNCE NEW PERFORMANCE AND COACHING MANAGER

Basketball ACT is excited to announce that Leonard King, will assume the role of Performance and Coaching Manager, after Phil Brown recently announced his departure from the role, which he has held for nine years.
Mr King, who has extensive experience in high performance and coaching roles at Basketball New Zealand, Basketball Queensland, and as a General Manager of Mackay Basketball, Queensland, will commence at Basketball ACT on 1 February 2023, and will look to make his mark on a huge season ahead for our elite and junior performance squads.
When making the announcement, incoming Chief Executive Officer, Nicole Bowles said, “Basketball ACT has been extremely fortunate to find such an experienced and knowledgeable candidate to continue Phil’s work in growing our game at that level, in Leonard, and we are looking forward to what the future holds.”
In response, Mr King said, ““I am very much looking forward to using my experience as a former player, coach and GM to help our athletes achieve their goals and I am excited about the opportunity to work with the entire ACT Basketball community and help make basketball the sport of choice for the Nation’s capital”.
