Basketball ACT (BACT) are set to celebrate NAIDOC Week, from 6-14 July 2024, commencing with the annual Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 East First Nations Round this Saturday at Belconnen Basketball Stadium.

The calendar for NAIDOC Week incorporates BACT’s annual Premier League Indigenous Round, as well as the Warriors annual NAIDOC Tournament on 12-14 July at Belconnen and Tuggeranong, a NAIDOC Fair featuring stalls and basketball related activities, health and well-being tips, and profiles on our ever-growing Indigenous basketball community.

During NAIDOC Week, Basketball ACT will also profile members from across our basketball community, including IDGP participants, junior players and our sponsors, to share their cultural story and what NAIDOC Week means to them.  Basketball ACT will also be providing health and well-being tips thanks to Black Dog Institute and local Indigenous Health Services.

Schedule of events include:

  • 6 July – Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 East – First Nations Round – v Sydney Comets @ Belconnen Basketball Stadium;
  • 10 July – BACT Premier League Indigenous Round (Round 14) @ Belconnen Basketball Stadium;
  • 12-14 July – Warriors NAIDOC Tournament @ Belconnen Basketball Stadium and Tuggeranong Southern Cross Stadium;
  • 13-14 July – NAIDOC Fair @ Belconnen Basketball Stadium (Outdoor Courts).
