BASKETBALL ACT’S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK SET TO BUILD BETTER MENTAL HEALTH AND RAISE FUNDS FOR ONGOING RESEARCH
By BACT Media Unit – 17 June 2024
With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing mental health symptoms each year, and 60% of those with a mental illness unlikely to seek support, Basketball ACT, in partnership with the Black Dog Institute, are holding their annual Mental Health Week from 17 – 23 June 2024, to shine a light on the journey to building better mental health.
Mental Health Week will provide a timely reminder for us all to check our own mental health, find out relevant information and tips to help us manage and maintain our mental wellbeing, as well as provide an opportunity to raise funds for the on-going research and advocacy work done by Black Dog Institute in mental health each and every day.
Mental Health Week will culminate in Basketball ACT’s NBL1 East Mental Health Round on Saturday 22 June against Maitland Mustangs at Belconnen Basketball Centre – tix available via INTIX.
Is it time for you, your business, your team mates or your children to take stock of your mental health? Do you need advice on what to do to get a better night sleep, or a strategy to identify and deal with unhelpful thoughts, feelings or behaviours?
