Welcome to Ford Aussie Hoops in the ACT! This is Basketball Australia’s official junior game development program for 5-10 year old’s and their families.
Put simply, Ford Aussie Hoops introduces children to basketball in a structured and accredited environment. It is designed for children new to the sport and focuses on teaching basic basketball skills.
Ford Aussie Hoops is a national program which provides an environment where children of all abilities can achieve on the court and reap the rewards of skill development, enhanced self-esteem, social co-operation and grassroots sports participation.
Our national coaching curriculum and sequentially-developed program consists of warm-up games, skill activities and modified games all delivered by accredited coaches.
Basketball ACT delivers Ford Aussie Hoops in two age groups, to ensure better skill alignment – FordAussie Hoops Under 8’s and FordAussie Hoops Under 10’s – at locations across the ACT.
Basketball ACT also offers a weekly Ford Aussie Hoops session at Belconnen Basketball Stadium aimed at children aged 5-10 years of age with an Intellectual Impairment, that focusses on engagement, involvement and activity.
Ford Aussie Hoops is delivered by qualified program coaches in a safe and supported environment.
