It’s set to be a scorcher on-court for Summer in the nation’s capital, with Basketball ACT announcing their Junior and Senior Summer competitions for 2024/2025.

With a greater focus on opportunities for young players to develop their game over the summer months, as well as retaining Senior competitions to meet all skill and ability levels, the Summer Season will

The Junior competition space, saw the biggest changes, with a realignment of competitions and the extension of the summer competitions, which will run from October 2024 to March 2025. Changes to the Junior competitions will see:

  • Junior Open – open to club and school teams, and aimed at players who would normally compete in the Basketball ACT’s Molten Junior Premier League (JPL) competition.
  • Junior Summer – aimed at all junior age groups (u10s-u19s) and open to club and school teams.

Meanwhile the Senior competition landscape will see the following competitions:

  • Summer Slam – Premier League level competition where teams are drafted from eligible Senior Premier League and Junior Premier League U19’s division players at commencement of the season;
  • Summer Open – open to club teams, aimed at players who would normally participate in the winter’s Senior Premier League 1 & 2 and Junior Premier League U19’s divisions;
  • Senior Social Summer – aimed at senior players and teams and open to club and non-club teams across A Grade, Senior Social (B to E grade) and Masters.
